Profile and settings

The account settings page holds everything that belongs to you personally: who you are in the system, your personal GitLab access token, the interface language and the list of devices you have signed in from. Its last section is covered separately — see Active sessions.

Profile

The role shown in the profile is reference information: it tells you which category your account falls into. What you can actually do is decided by permissions, not by the role — see Permissions.

GitLab token

GitLab token is your personal GitLab access key: you create it in GitLab itself and paste it here. PDM uses it to run operations that touch repositories and pipelines on your behalf.

Some operations fail without a token

Certain actions — those that edit repository files in your name, for example — require the token to be filled in. Without it the operation fails at the corresponding step; open the workspace page to see where.

A token that is already saved is never shown in clear text. A new value takes effect as soon as it is saved, with no need to sign in again.

Interface language

Between the profile and the session list there is an “Interface language” section, captioned “Application interface language”. The switch offers two values — “Русский” and “English”.

The choice applies immediately: the page is not reloaded and you do not have to sign in again. The language is remembered in the browser, so it is set per browser and per device — on another computer you will have to pick it again.

What the settings do not contain

• no password change. PDM does not hold its own logins and passwords — it uses your corporate account, and the password is changed in the same place as for the rest of the infrastructure. See Signing in for details;
• no name, e-mail or avatar fields — that data comes from the account itself;
• no other interface settings: apart from the language, PDM offers no theme, no time zone and no table density options;
• no permission management — your set of permissions is defined by an administrator and is not editable on this page.

Favorite stands are not in the settings

The list of favorite stands is built elsewhere — with the star button in the header of a particular stand. Starred stands show up in the “Favorites” block in the sidebar and on the dashboard.
